Cathy Cartier Named 2012-13 Missouri Teacher of the Year
Cathy Cartier, an English teacher at Affton High School, has been selected as Missouri Teacher of the Year. Cathy and five state finalists will be honored at a banquet to be held Oct. 15, 2012.

2012 Pioneers in Education
Four individuals were honored July 30, 2012, as Pioneers in Education for their commitment and contribution to public education in Missouri. The 2012 Pioneers in Education are: William H. Danforth, St. Louis; Martha Fennewald, Westphalia; Frankie Muse Freeman, St. Louis; and Russell V. Thompson, Columbia.

Kim Lackey Named 2012-13 Foreign Language Teacher of the Year
Kim Lackey, a Spanish teacher at Eureka High School, has been named the Missouri Distinguished Foreign Language Teacher of the Year by the Foreign Language Association of Missouri (FLAM). Each year, this award is presented to one outstanding foreign language teacher in the state.
