Applications Now Available for “i3” Grants; Workshops & Webinars Set. Applications and guidelines have just been released for the $650 million Investing in Innovation (i3) Fund. The program is open to individual school districts, groups of school districts, charter schools and nonprofits that choose to apply directly to the U.S. Department of Education. The U.S. Department of Education also has scheduled a series of workshops and Webinars in March for potential applicants. Attendance is limited and preregistration is required. - New Math GLE Examples Posted. The Department has posted Draft 2.0 Mathematics GLE Examples for review and comment. Stakeholders are invited to review the draft and submit comments by April 15.
- Draft Common Core Standards Released. The first public draft of the new Common Core State Standards has been published and released for public comment by the National Governors Association and the Council of Chief State School Officers. Comments may be submitted until April 15.
- Talent Pool Recommendations. The Department invites Missouri educators to nominate outstanding elementary-level colleagues for the 2010 talent pool. Nominees may be considered for special awards or for service on state-level committees and task forces.
