- Facts about “ABCTE” Teaching Certificates. The governor has signed legislation that recognizes the American Board for Certification of Teacher Excellence as a route to certification in Missouri. DESE has a “fact sheet” about the new law as well as application forms for prospective candidates. (Educator Certification).
- Workshop for New Teachers in Gifted Education Programs. July 28-29, Drury University, Springfield. Program and registration information is available now. (Gifted Education)
- The Missouri School Violence Hotline (Dept. of Social Services) has a new graphic that school districts may use to promote the service to students, parents and the community. The image may be incorporated into student handbooks, school Web sites, etc. Visit the School Violence Hotline site. - Fulbright Teacher Exchange. K-12 teachers and administrators are eligible for learning experiences abroad during the 2009-10 academic year through the Fulbright Exchange Program, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State. Apply by Oct. 15, 2008.
