Tornado Drill. The 36th annual Statewide Tornado Drill is scheduled for next Tuesday, March 9.
- Planning for Summer School. The 2010 Summer School Information Handbook and other resources for planning summer school programs are now available.
- 2010 College Prep Certificates. Attention high school principals and counselors (public and private): It is time to order College Prep Studies Certificates for members of the Class of 2010.
- Children in Nature Challenge. Gov. Jay Nixon recently signed an Executive Order creating the Children in Nature Challenge. It encourages schools, communities, state agencies and others to encourage children to spend more time outdoors, enjoying and learning about nature. The Departments of Conservation and Natural Resources are the lead agencies for the initiative.
- Deadline for “Tar Wars.” April 16 is the deadline to submit entries in the 2010 Tar Wars anti-tobacco poster contest, sponsored by the Missouri Academy of Family Physicians.
- Call for Nominations: 2010 Agriscience Awards. The Christopher Columbus Fellowship Foundation is accepting nominations for the 2010 Agriscience Awards, in partnership with the American Farm Bureau Federation. The program includes three $10,000 awards for outstanding secondary-level educators. Nominations are due April 6.
