QUALIFICATIONS DESIRABLE CANDIDATES SHOULD POSSESS
(Other qualifications and experience, which in the opinion of the Commissioner of Education
meet the requirements of the position may be accepted in lieu of the following.)

 

  1. High School diploma or G.E.D. required.
  2. Completion of a training program or prior experience handling routine business communications, word processing and data entry, office machine operation, office procedures, public relations, secretarial accounting, filing systems, and records management.

                                   

 

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED

 

  1. Answer telephone and give information to callers, take messages, or transfer calls to appropriate individuals.
  2. Open incoming mail and route to appropriate individual, division, or place in appropriate file.
  3. Compose and answer routine correspondence.
  4. Revise/update yearly clinical and ancillary services manual.
  5. Enter student medical data into Medicare/Medicaid computer reimbursement program.
  6. File correspondence and other records.
  7. Make copies of correspondence and other printed matter.
  8. Coordinate yearly staff wellness fair.
  9. Compile and maintain lists and records.
  10. Order and inventory section supplies and equipment.
  11. Complete expense forms in order to process reimbursements or payment requests.
  12. Prepare division staff members’ time and attendance records and forward to Human Resource Office.

 

BENEFITS
(For a Full-Time Position)

VACATION: Generally accrue 10 hours per month for employees with up to ten years of creditable service.  

SICK LEAVE:  Generally accrue 10 hours per month.

FAMILY MEDICAL LEAVE:  After 12 months or 1250 hours of employment, 12 weeks of unpaid leave is available for employees as laid out in the policy.

ORGAN/BONE MARROW DONATION LEAVE:  5 workdays given for bone marrow donation and 30 workdays given for organ donation. 

SCHOOL-VISIT LEAVE:  Up to 8 hours of paid leave for assisting in the classroom with curricular activities or visiting with child’s teacher on curricular activities and other events as outlined in the policy.

HOLIDAYS:  12 holidays per year.

RETIREMENT:  Vested after five years of creditable service.

LIFE INSURANCE:  Free basic life insurance coverage equal to one-times the employee's annual salary.  The minimum coverage amount will remain $15,000.

OPTIONAL LIFE INSURANCE:  Employee may purchase up to 6 times their annual salary.  Spouse and children life insurance coverage is available.

HEALTH PLANS:  Employer-paid/subsidized plans available the month after employment.

DENTAL PLANS:  Several plans are available in limited areas of the state. Employees may pay through a payroll deduction.

VISION PLAN:  Available statewide.  Employees may pay through payroll deduction.

EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM:  Up to six counseling visits per episode per family member per year.

DEFERRED COMPENSATION:  If employee contributes a minimum of $25 per month towards the State of Missouri Deferred Compensation Plan, then the State will contribute an additional $25 per month to eligible employees after 12 continuous months of employment.
