QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelors degree in a relevant area such as public administration, special education, allied health, or rehabilitation required. Masters degree preferred.
A minimum of three years professional or technical experience in delivery of assistive technology services or other disability related programs.
Specific technical expertise in high-end assistive technology such as augmentative communication devices, computer adaptations, and accessible information technology. A background with assistive technology in elementary and secondary education is preferred.
Demonstrated sensitivity to the needs of individuals with disabilities and their parents and families and strong interpersonal and leadership skills to work with diverse constituencies.
A record of excellent oral and written communication skills (may be accomplished through the use of assistive technology.)
EXAMPLES OF WORK
PERFORMED
This is a specialized professional position for Missouri Assistive Technology responsible for implementation of statewide assistive technology programs and services. Work is performed under the direct supervision of the Director and Assistant Director of Missouri Assistive Technology (MoAT). Overall programmatic direction for programs and services is provided by the Missouri Assistive Technology Council.
Administer one or more programs/services, including but not limited to those directly providing adaptive equipment, device demonstration, device reuse, device loan, training, or information and assistance that allow individuals with disabilities to access and acquire assistive technology devices, services or supports.
Work collaborative with a wide variety of groups such as program-related committees, state personnel, school personnel, employers, and nonprofit disability agencies in carrying out program implementation.
Provide information and assistance to consumers, businesses, health care providers, state agencies, and others to assist them in increasing knowledge and expertise about assistive technology, accessing available resources and acquiring/delivering assistive technology through public and private sources.
Prepare written and other materials required for federal program performance reviews.
Maintain and update internal data systems associated with the programs administered.
Review program/service expenditures and provide first level approval for those costs associated with program/service responsibilities.
Monitor, analyze and manage data to track and report on current program service status, identify future program needs, implement program improvement initiatives and suggest and implement mechanisms to improve data collection and analysis.
Monitor and ensure compliance with all relevant state and federal program statutory requirements and state purchasing requirements.

BENEFITS
(For a Full-Time Position)
VACATION: Generally accrue 10 hours
per month for employees with up to ten years of creditable service.
SICK LEAVE:
Generally accrue 10 hours per month.
FAMILY MEDICAL LEAVE: After 12 months or 1250 hours of employment, 12 weeks of
unpaid leave is available for employees as laid out in the policy.
ORGAN/BONE MARROW DONATION LEAVE: 5 workdays given for bone marrow donation and 30 workdays
given for organ donation.
SCHOOL-VISIT LEAVE: Up to 8 hours of paid leave for assisting in the classroom
with curricular activities or visiting with child’s teacher on curricular
activities and other events as outlined in the policy.
HOLIDAYS: 12
holidays per year.
RETIREMENT:
Vested after five years of creditable service.
LIFE INSURANCE:
Free basic life insurance coverage equal to one-times the employee's
annual salary. The minimum coverage amount will remain $15,000.
OPTIONAL LIFE INSURANCE:
Employee may purchase up to 6 times their annual
salary. Spouse and children life insurance coverage is
available.

HEALTH PLANS:
Employer-paid/subsidized plans available the first of the following month after
employment.

EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM: You have up to six counseling sessions
available per family member annually per episode. The EAP
can help with things like stress, parenting, alcohol and drug abuse, marital
problems, anxiety, depression, legal issues, financial concerns and dependent
care issues.
