Accreditation ensures quality afterschool programs by using standards and procedures as outlined by one of two sanctioned Before/Afterschool Accreditation Organizations:
  • Missouri Accreditation (MOA)
  • National Afterschool Association (NAA) Accreditation

MOA

Offers a three year accreditation cycle with a fee totaling from $475 to $1,375 (depending on the number of programs and children) for the entire three years.  This cost includes all of the materials, the review team visit and annual fee after the accreditation.  Several steps are required to achieve MOA accreditation.

  • Completion of the proper paperwork (eg, self study, staff roster, daily time schedule, parent evaluation, facility sketch, and health and safety supplement)
  • Application must be postmarked by the quarterly due dates (January 1, April 1, July 1, or October 1)
  • A review team will be assigned and a visit will be scheduled.
  • An exit interview.
  • Continuous improvement (annual reporting and fees).
