The following list contains information about state and national
organizations available to adults working with school age children and
youth.
MOSAC2 (Missouri School
Age Community Coalition)
MOSAC2 is the statewide non-profit organization that supports and unifies professionals in providing quality out-of-school programs. MOSAC2 is a state affiliate of the National Afterschool Association (NAA). For more information, visit www.mosac2.org.
MASN (Missouri AfterSchool Network)
This network is a statewide partnership to support and coordinate high-quality out-of-school time programs. It provides opportunities to strenghen, expand and improve the work already initiated in existing afterschool programs, as well as to provide the tools, training, technical assistance, and models needed for the emergent programs throughout Missouri. MAACCE (Missouri Association for
Adult Continuing and Community Education)
This statewide membership organization is for professionals practicing adult and community education activities in Missouri. MAACCE focuses on lifelong learning by enhancing the growth and development of professionals with diverse roles as they address the changing needs of their communities. Membership categories consist of: Adult Education and Literacy, Community Education, Higher Education, and Department of Corrections. MAACCE is the state affiliate of the National Community Education Association (NCEA). For more information, visit www.maacce.org.
NAA (National AfterSchool
Association)
Formerly the National School-Age Care Alliance, NAA was founded in 1987 as a national professional association with a membership component. As the leading voice of the afterschool profession, NAA is dedicated to the development, education, and care of children and youth during their out-of-school hours. for more information, visit www.naaweb.org.
NCEA (National Community Education
Association)
This is a non-profit 501(c)(3) membership association dedicated to providing leadership to those who build learning communities in response to individual community needs. Community Education is an educational philosophy that underlies community schools, advocates the creation of opportunities for community members – individuals, schools, businesses, and public and private organizations – to become partners in addressing community needs.
