Counselors Complete Five-Year Project to Develop Missouri Comprehensive Guidance Program

We greatly appreciate all the individuals who assisted in the development of the Missouri Comprehensive Guide Program. Some of the members of the curriculum writing team met in Columbia, Mo., at the conclusion of this year’s work.

This group of counselors (and many more not pictured above) volunteered many weekends and evenings of personal time to work on this long-term project. Their professionalism and dedication during the years enabled the project to be successfully completed.
As a result of this project, professional school counselors throughout the state and beyond are benefiting from new and updated resources for their comprehensive guidance programs.

Study Identifies Predictors of College and Career Readiness
ACT, Inc. has released the “The Forgotten Middle: Ensuring that All Students Are on Target for College and Career Readiness before High School” report.
Students are often deemed eligible for different types of services as a result, in part, of an administration of an individual intelligence test. The position paper from the National Association for Gifted Children below gives some guidelines to be considered when using the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children, Fourth Edition (WISC-IV) for determination of eligibility.
