Approved
Secondary Programs at Designated Area Career Centers
$11,000 for
full-time teachers and counselors.
The reimbursement will be prorated accordingly if the teacher
or counselor has a three-fourths, one-half, one-third, etc.
position.
To be
reimbursed:

The number of full-time teachers reimbursed in Fiscal Year
2001 will be the same number reimbursed for Fiscal Year 2003 and the
following years. |

The program must be a Department-approved career
education program. |
 |
The teacher must be properly certificated for the teaching
area. |
 |
There must be an average of at least ten (10) students
enrolled for the school year to receive full reimbursement.
If the average enrollment for the school year is less than
ten (10) and greater than one (1), the reimbursement will be
one-half. Students in
grades 9-12 can be counted as well as adult students.

The teacher is teaching grades 9-12.
|
 |
If a program or instructor is dropped, a new or
expanded program or instructor may be added.
|
 |
If a program is not taught for one-year due to the
lack of an instructor, the salary reimbursement dollars will be
held. However, if after
one-year the program is not taught, it will be dropped and
the salary reimbursement dollars will be eliminated.
The salary reimbursement dollars have been lost.

Full Time

Postsecondary
Career Education Programs (Two
& Four-Year
Institutions)

$120 per credit hour for any class with ten (10) or more
students. |

No reimbursement for any class with less than ten (10)
students. |

The program must be a Department-approved career
education program. |
 |
If a program or instructor is dropped, a new or
expanded program or instructor may be added.

If a program is not taught for one-year due to the
lack of an instructor, the salary reimbursement dollars will be

salary reimbursement dollars will be eliminated.

Teachers with ten (10) or more credit hours per semester must
meet certification requirements.
Teachers with one (1) to nine (9) credit hours are considered
adjunct faculty and are not required to meet certification
requirements for short-term instruction.

A maximum of 15 credit hours per semester (first and second)
and eight (8) credit hours for summer will be reimbursed per
teacher. |
Health
Sciences (Postsecondary and Adult)
 |
There must be an average of at least six (6) students
enrolled in Health Sciences programs for the school year to receive
full reimbursement. If
the average enrollment for the school year is less than six (6) but
greater than one (1), the reimbursement will be one-half.

All “clinical only” instructors in full-time adult
programs will be considered as short-term and be reimbursed at $10
per contact hour for up to 500 contact hours per semester.

 |
All “clinical only” instructors in postsecondary programs
will be considered as adjunct faculty and be reimbursed at $120 per
credit hour for up to nine (9) credit hours per semester.
|
 |
The above procedures do not apply to short-term adult
programs less than 500 contact hours or secondary programs.
|
Full-Time
Adult Career Education Programs More Than 500 Contact Hours
$15,000 for full-time teachers.
To be reimbursed:

There must be an average of at least ten (10) students
enrolled for the school year to receive full reimbursement.
If the average enrollment for the school year is less than
ten (10) and greater than one (1), the reimbursement will be
one-half. |

The program must be a Department-approved career
education program. |
 |

$10 per hour for any class with ten (10) or more students.

No reimbursement for any class with less than ten (10)

No reimbursement for any class with less than one (1) hour of
instruction. |
 |
Reimbursement will be based upon the availability of funds
per program section. |
Administrators
Area
Career Center Directors and Community College Occupational Deans
 |
$10,000 for a full-time vocational administrator who holds a
current two-year, five-year or ten-year career education director
certificate. |
Only
full-time career education administrative positions will be reimbursed.
Assistant
Directors (Area Career Centers and Community Colleges)
 |
$8,000 for a full-time assistant director who holds either a
current two-year, five-year, or ten-year career education director
certificate. |
 |
$4,000 for a half-time assistant director who holds either a
current two-year, five-year, or ten-year career education director
certificate.
|
Positions
of less than half-time will not be reimbursed.
Business-Industry
Coordinators (Two and Four-Year Institutions)
 |
$8,000 for full-time business-industry coordinators who hold
a current two-year, five-year, or ten-year adult
education supervisor certificate.
|
 |
$4,000 for half-time business-industry coordinators who hold
a current two-year, five-year, or ten-year adult
education supervisor certificate. |
Positions
of less than half-time will not be reimbursed.
Adult
Career Education Supervisors (Area Career Centers and
Community Colleges)
Full-Time
$15,000 for adult career education supervisors who hold a
current two-year, five-year, or ten-year adult career education
supervisor certificate.
Half-Time
$7,500 for adult career education supervisors who hold a
current two-year, five-year, or ten-year adult careereducation
supervisor certificate.
Less Than Half-Time
Individual must hold a current two-year, five-year, or
ten-year adult career education supervisor certificate.
Salary reimbursement will be prorated from the $15,000 figure
according to the time devoted to program supervision.
Positions
of less than half-time will be considered not reimbursable at such
time that a change in current personnel occurs.
