The purpose of the State Service-Learning Advisory Council is to promote and sustain service-learning as an effective instructional methodology for the educational, social, and civic benefit of K-12 students and communities throughout the state.

burgandy bulletMission and Goals - Our State Service-Learning State Advisory Council is a group of over 30 individuals including students and educators from K-12 school districts, community-based organization representatives, colleges, and universities in conjunction with the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. The Advisory Council is working towards :

    strategy
burgandy bulletResearch, develop, and disseminate best practices for service-
    learning
burgandy bulletGuide and recommend state policy on service-learning
burgandy bulletDisseminate service-learning information, training, and resources
burgandy bulletSupport and strengthen the development of new or existing service-
    learning initiatives
burgandy bulletEncourage student empowerment and leadership
burgandy bulletEstablish alliances with strategic partners.
