Schools Seeking Designation (2009-2010)
--------------------------------------------------
Schools scheduled to have designation reviews during the ’09-’10 school year will be receiving a letter very soon with information regarding those reviews. Plans are in the works to invite ’09-’10 review A+ Coordinators and Guidance Counselors to a workshop at the end of the summer to help with the final review preparations.

Peer Tutoring Course Code
-------------------------------------
Many of you requested that the Department create a tutoring course code and we have done that. The Peer Tutoring course code is 992010. Please make sure that all of your MOSIS and/or Core Data Coordinators are aware of this code.

MoVIP and A+
----------------------
MoVIP students wanting to participate in the A+ program must complete all of the requirements of the program in order to be considered A+ eligible upon high school graduation.
To remain A+ eligible students must:
- Enroll in and attend an A+ designated high school for three consecutive years immediately prior to graduation,
- Have a signed agreement with an A+ designated high school,
- Maintain at least a cumulative 2.5 GPA,
- Participate in 50 hours of tutoring/mentoring, which must be signed off and verified by a certificated teacher employed by the A+ designated school,
- Have a 95% attendance rate in classes attended and counted for state aid at the A+ designated high school, and
- Maintain a record of good citizenship, including the avoidance of drugs and alcohol.
Checking the box on the MoVIP application indicating local school district enrollment does not automatically make a student eligible to participate in a designated high school’s A+ program.
