Summative Assessment and Scoring Guides:

The student will write multi-paragraph texts that interpret, evaluate, and persuade and use relevant evidence to defend a position.

The student will write multi-paragraph essays that contain an effective thesis statement and individual perspective, style and voice, and complex ideas in a sustained and compelling manner.

 

 

Students must be able to write multi-paragraph essays and texts for various audiences and purposes in workplace situations.

 

 

Students must be able to write logical responses (to various types of articles, editorials, advertisements, news programs, editorials, and/or political cartoons) that include supporting evidence from text.

The student will write an analysis and/or evaluation on the use of imagery, language, themes, stylistic devices, and tone in a piece of literature or a given text.

The student will write a reflective paper that compares specific incidents and universal themes in literature.

 

 

To better understand literature, students must be able to evaluate written texts for various purposes.
