Assessment

Students will write about a time in their lives when their viewpoint changed as a result of the passage of time.  Ask them to focus on the passage of time as a setting change and explain how it changed their viewpoint.

Have them write Journal Response 3:  Write about a time in your life when your viewpoint changed as a result of the passage of time. 

Assess the response for addressing the passage of time as a setting change.

Scoring guide:

2 points – Student identifies a viewpoint and how it changed over the passage of

                 time

1 point – Student identifies a viewpoint

0 points – no response
