1.        Review endings of each touchstone text. Discuss how the author concluded each text.

2.        Establish purpose of and define a conclusion.

§         A concluding or ending sentence tells something more about the subject and refers back to the topic.

3.        Teacher models writing a conclusion, borrowing ideas from the topic sentence.

4.        Teacher confers with students while taking anecdotal records.
