LEARNING ACTIVITIES

1.        Revisit previous day’s lesson, examining the use of details.

2.        Examine student writing from previous day.  Share student samples showing good representation of details.

3.        Discuss the importance of putting ideas in order.  Refer to the Peanut Butter and Jelly activity.  Share a list of transition words with students, giving each a copy to keep in their writing folders.

4.        Model the use of transition words within a piece of writing.

5.        Confer with students while taking anecdotal records.
