This unit deals with meeting challenges. You will read a poem and a short story about people who face challenges. Use information from the short story A Day’s Wait by Ernest Hemingway and the poem Oranges by Gary Soto to answer the following questions.

  1. Write a paragraph that compares and contrasts the main character of A Day’s Wait to the main character of Oranges. Include at least two similarities and two differences in your paragraph.
