PERFORMANCE EVENT

Look at the two pictures provided by your teacher.  One of the pictures shows people with great respect for the flag and the other one shows people treating the flag with disrespect. What messages are both pictures giving to the audience?  Write a paragraph comparing and contrasting the feelings showed by the people in each picture. 

Before beginning your writing, create a graphic organizer to organize your ideas.  Then use the ideas from the graphic organizer to write a first draft.  Be sure to use a dictionary and the checklist below to proofread your first draft.  Make changes that you feel are needed to make your paragraph clear to your audience; then, write the final draft.  The state scoring guide will be used for assessment.
