LESSON SEVEN:  Focus question summary and choose the person who makes the most difference

 

Prior to this lesson, students research in the library and complete organizational charts modeled earlier in the unit.  Students then complete the focus question summary and choose the person who makes the most difference.

        Write a summary of the process students undertook to choose one person for the Hall of Fame on the Who to Choose handout. Scoring guide provided.

LEARNING ACTIVITIES

1.        Review worthy attributes.  After selecting two individuals with low notoriety, students decide which one made a greater difference.  Students explain their reasoning, identify attributes each example exhibits, and explain why one attribute is worthier than another.

2.        Review comparing and contrasting. Students complete the Note-taking Organizer using their research notes.
