Unit Overview

iRESPECT OF SELF AND OTHERS

5th grade
9 lessons
Students demonstrate a mastery of text features and text elements in drama, poetry, and fiction. The text elements include: making inferences, identifying cause and effect, and determining author’s purpose.
Strategies:  Recognize and use text features in various genre; infer, compare and contrast various elements; write a narrative
This unit consists of nine lessons. Students create a narrative text that includes a logical sequence of events and demonstrates correct use of parts of speech.
