LEARNING ACTIVITIES

 

1.        Model two rates of speaking “slow talking” (such as a Texan, or cowboy), and “fast talking” (such as a city slicker or auctioneer).  Instruct students to walk around the room in the speed of a variety of characters: auctioneer, someone talking excitedly on the phone, tortoise and hare, snake, apple falling from a tree, etc.
