Students read a tall tale to identify story elements using a Story Pyramid graphic organizer.

Students complete the Story Pyramid graphic organizer using the story Johnny Appleseed or other tall tale.

 

LEARNING ACTIVITIES

  1. Reintroduce Pecos Bill or another tall tale used in this unit. Discuss story elements with students.

Discuss story elements such as: main character, setting, problem, solution, and important details. This can be an oral discussion with a written list of the story elements identified.
