Sample Parent Letter Two

February 14, 2004

Dear students,

During this last quarter, we have been studying the impact of President Truman in our history and language arts classes. On March 22 nd, our class will take an educational field trip to the Truman Presidential Library in Independence, Missouri. In order to be able to attend the field trip, you must complete and submit your research project, have your parents sign the school district’s permission slip, and ask your parents for a trip allowance of $25.00. The money you need for the trip includes the entrance fee, lunch, and the required Truman Library study guide. You do not have to pay for the bus transportation. There is a souvenir shop at the library, so if you would like to buy souvenirs, you may want to bring some additional money.

We will leave for the Truman Library after roll is taken in your first hour class, and we will return before the dismissal bell at the end of the day. I expect your behavior to be at its best during this entire trip, or you will have to be my partner for the entire day,  I think we will have a great day, and I am anxiously looking forward to it.

Sincerely,
