FOUR SENTENCE TYPES

DECLARATIVE - statement - use a period (.)    

Example: I am a man.

EXCLAMATORY - shows emotion - use an exlamation mark/point (!)

Example:  I can’t believe it is raining!

IMPERATIVE - request (often includes PLEASE) or command; use a period (.) or an exclamation mark/point (!)

Example:  Please hand me the bread.

INTERROGATIVE - question - use a question mark (?)

Example:  What is your name?
