TECHNICAL SUPPORT GROUP

POSITION TITLE: Supervisor Technical Support

STATUS: Full-time, 12 month position

REPORTS TO: Coordinator Instructional Technology

POSITION SUMMARY: Supervise District Wide Technical Support for all Technology

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Ability to represent Rockwood School District and the Technical Support Department in a professional manner as a contact for public and District calls.

2. Ability to supervise installation, support of all District technology.

3. Ability to know when a problem or issue arises beyond the scope of this position to contact the supervisor.

4. Ability to perform multiple tasks with impeding deadlines quickly and efficiently.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Supervise the installation and maintenance networking software and hardware for the entire School District. To include Novell and ICLAS applications and operating systems such as DOS and Windows and its applications including Word for Windows. Also all hardware repairs for the district.

2. Configure, purchase and implement the installation of LANs and WANs for the District.

3. Configure, purchase and implement the installation of all computer systems used in the District.

4. Be able to assist or do the work on a temporary basis of any employee in the Technical Support Department.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

1. Graduation from accredited high school.

2. Graduation from College or Tech School with degree/certificate in computer hardware/software.

3. Ability to demonstrate knowledge acquired through self learning of computer hardware/software in place of the above with some prior employment, experience in this field.

4. Ability to communicate and handle people in a professional and non-threatening manner.
