Answer to Problem 10: 

No, the graph of the function will never intersect the x axis.  The values will continue to get smaller in size but never reach zero.  The graph will approach 0 as x becomes very small but will never be zero. 

Students should be able to identify why this graph will never intersect the x axis, i.e., that the function listed y = is always multiplying by 2 (or multiplying by ½ once exponents become negative) and the only way to get 0 through multiplication is to multiply by 0.
