In preparing for a barbecue, the Cook’s bought the following at the grocery store:  6½ pounds of hamburger at $1.89 a pound, 12 pounds of chicken at $.59 a pound, and 4 pounds of hotdogs at $2.10 a pound.  Find the total amount paid by the Cook’s for the barbecue.  Show all work to support your answer.
