1.  Summer reading program workshops scheduled for February and March

Regardless of the size of your library, the summer reading program workshops offered by the State Library will motivate and prepare you for the best summer reading programs you have ever had.

 

Patricia Sinclair, Get a Clue @ Your Library summer reading program manual editor and presenter, will share her expertise in an effort to help Missouri librarians plan and implement terrific summer reading programs. Starting with the basics on how to develop summer reading programs for children, Patricia will review ideas for programming, promoting and providing incentives to encourage children to participate in your library’s summer reading program.

Workshop dates and locations are:

• February 19, Daniel Boone Regional Library, Columbia Public Library

• February 20, Carrollton Public Library

• February 21, Lebanon-Laclede County Library

• February 22, Springfield-Greene County Library, The Library Center

• February 23, St. Louis County Library, Bridgeton Trails

Rose Mary Honnold, author of 101+ Teen Programs That Work and More Teen Programs That Work, will present the workshops on summer reading programs for teens.

• March 13, Carrollton Public Library

• March 14, Daniel Boone Regional Library, Columbia Public Library

• March 15, Springfield-Greene County Library, The Library Center

• March 16, Lebanon-Laclede County Library

These workshops are free and open to Missouri public and school library personnel implementing summer reading programs. Registration is required as space is limited at all workshop sites. The State Library may limit the number of participants from any one institution at any workshop site.
