UNITED STATES SENATE YOUTH PROGRAM
The United States Senate Youth Program, established in 1962 by U.S. Senate Resolution, is a unique educational experience for outstanding high school students interested in pursuing careers in public service. Student delegates will hear major policy addresses by Senators, cabinet members, officials from the Departments of State and Defense and directors of other federal agencies, as well as participate in a meeting with a Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court.
Each year letters with information about the program are mailed to the principals of public, charter and non-public high schools in the state. Each principal may nominate ONE student (either a junior or senior) for the award. Applications MUST come from principals. Applications from others will NOT be accepted. Applications are due by September 23, 2011.
