SUBJECT: Highly Qualified Teacher Reminder

On March 25, 2010, a letter regarding NCLB Highly Qualified Teachers (HQT) was sent to your district. This is a reminder that your district will need to respond by April 23, 2010. Below are a couple of issues of clarification.
- If your district had not certified your MOSIS October Course Assignment file, the HQT letter you received would have indicated MOSIS “No”. If you have now certified your MOSIS file and would like to check the educators on your list, go to Screen 20 of Core Data to verify the change in the delivery system and certification. You should then print this information and submit it to our office.
- If your district does not have any changes to the HQT information you received, please e-mail your Grants Management Supervisor to let them know the list is correct.
In May, we will send a letter indicating the final status of the district’s percentage of courses taught by highly qualified teachers. If you have additional questions regarding HQT, please contact your Federal Grants Management Supervisor listed below:
