LISTSERVE MESSAGE DATE: August 5, 2010
Topics Included –
- District/LEA Improvement and Corrective Action Letters
- NCLB Consolidated Application Processing Tips
1) There was an intent to send districts their District Improvement or Corrective Action notification letter on DESE letterhead for districts to copy and send to parents. The process was not in place to do so this year. Districts/LEAs will need to use the letter template provided in the Understanding Your AYP document found at http://dese.mo.gov/divimprove/sia/dar/UnderstandingYourAYP.pdf starting on page 31. This letter may go out after the September 3, 2010 appeal window deadline.
Districts/LEAs will be submitting a signed copy of the District/LEA Improvement or Corrective Action letter to DESE by October 15 through the web-based mechanism called formHog. Superintendents and Federal Program Coordinators will receive an email message from info@formHog.com with instructions.
2) The Federal Grants Management Supervisors know that districts are anxious to receive final approval on their NCLB Consolidated Applications. Staff compiled a list of 10 Application Processing Tips that will facilitate an accurate, faster processing of the district’s application. The 10 Tips can be found at http://dese.mo.gov/divimprove/fedprog/grantmgmnt/documents/nclb_application
If you have any questions, please contact your Grants Management supervisor.
