SUBJECT: ACCESS for ELLs Workshops Scheduled Around the State

Learn more about the World-Class Instructional Design and Assessment Consortium (or WIDA Consortium), an association of states dedicated to the design and implementation of high standards and equitable educational opportunities for English language learners. This workshop will focus on issues related to the new annual English language proficiency assessment, ACCESS for ELLs, including an overview of:
- Assessment Materials
- Distribution and Security Procedures
- Test Administration
- Scoring
- Shipping
This workshop is recommended for ESL Coordinators, ESL Teachers, Federal Program Coordinators, and District Test Coordinators. At least one representative from each district administering the ACCESS for ELLs is required to attend this live MELL workshop. Anyone who will administer the test must have attended the live MELL workshop or be trained by the district representative who attended the live MELL workshop.
In addition, anyone who will administer the test must score at least 80% on each applicable quiz that follows the online training modules for: 1) group test administration, 2) speaking test administration, and 3) kindergarten test administration in order to be certified as a test administrator. Quizzes may be retaken as required.
