of institutions of higher education that prepare special education and
related services personnel,

of programs for children with disabilities,
Representatives
of other State agencies involved in the financing or delivery of related
services to children with disabilities,
Representatives
of private schools and public charter schools,
At
least one representative of a vocational, community or business organization
concerned with the provision of transition
services to children with disabilities, and
Representatives
from the State juvenile and adult corrections agencies.
Appointments to the State Advisory Panel for Special Education will be made by the
Commissioner of Education. Appointments are for a three-year term. Most appointments are
made to begin July 1 of each year.The State Advisory Panel meets at least quarterly in the mid-MO area. All reasonable
and necessary expenses incurred by Panel members in the performance of their Panel
membership duties will be paid by the DESE. Expenses include mileage to meetings, lodging
and meals.
