The week of April 2 through 8 is the nationally recognized  Week of the Young Child.  A letter has been sent to  Governor Blunt requesting that he proclaim Wednesday, April 5 as First  Steps Day.  We are encouraging all LICC, RICC, System Points of  Entry, and providers to coordinate local efforts and highlight the First Steps Program to increase public awareness during the week.

Many of  your legislators will be in their home districts on Friday of this week, which might be a good day to continue the efforts of improved awareness and communication with the people who can influence the direction of the First  Steps Program.
