We have received some informal concerns/comments from the field that some school districts may not have accomplished the consultation/collaboration required by IDEA 2004, with private schools located within their school district.  Allegations of a failure to meet the requirements of consultation will be investigated under the Child Complaint Process.  It is very important for school districts to document the required consultation; use of our model form is strongly recommended.  Please review the SELS message of July 26, 2005, for specific details about the requirements and documentation, at: http://dese.mo.gov/divspeced/Listserv_Archives.html (click on listserv archives).
