ANNOUNCEMENT: Beginning May 1, 2007 First Steps providers may begin to submit claims for mileage reimbursement to the Central Finance Office. The invoice document is posted on the web site at www.mofirststeps.com – “Help” – “Shortcuts”. Independent Providers and Agencies must use this official invoice for mileage claim submission.
The initial claim may cover travel incurred between February 1, 2007 and April 30, 2007. May 2007 travel may be submitted any time after June 1, 2007. Each month there after, providers may submit claims for travel reimbursement after the first day of the month following the month in which the travel occurred.
Claims should be submitted one time per month. Payment for these claims will occur according to the same check run schedule used for all other First Steps claims. Agencies submitting claims for multiple providers will need to maintain documentation by individual provider in order to determine how much of the payment is attributed to each individual. The payment for travel reimbursement will show on the Explanation of Payment (EOP) as “other” and be a single amount equal to the total number of miles claimed (line 6 of the invoice form) times .30 cents. Remember, all documentation supporting the mileage claim must be maintained by the agency or individual provider and will be subject to review by the CFO. Selection of providers for review will occur monthly and chosen on a random basis.
