Subject: American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) - Update

The Division of Special Education is awaiting further guidance from the U. S. Department of Education on the appropriate use of ARRA funds; we will share it as soon as we receive it. However, at this time, we did want to ensure that you understood from the information already shared that the U. S. Department of Education has indicated the same rules apply to the ARRA funds as to the normal Part B IDEA allocations. The use of IDEA funds may be found at:

Since these are federal funds, districts must also comply with the Education Department General Administrative Regulations (EDGAR), Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Circulars A87 and A133, and the Cash Management and Improvement Act (CMIA).
