Subject: Blind/Visually Impaired: Sensory Learning of Students with Visual and Multiple Impairments Workshop

Intended Audience: Early Interventionists, teachers and paraprofessionals of students with visual impairments, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, physical therapists, family members, and educational teams of students with deafblindness

Millie Smith, educator, consultant, and author of the book, Teaching Students with Visual and Multiple Impairments: A Resource Guide, will present two days focused on how to use sensory strategies to design activities for students with visual and multiple impairments, including deafblindness, so that specific skills addressed in goals and objectives can be learned more efficiently.

Learning Objectives:
* Participants will recognize the significant characteristics of sensory-motor learners of any age.
* Participants will examine the role of each of the major senses in learning activities relative to visual and multiple impairments.
* Participants will develop specific sensory modifications in sample routines to enhance learning efficiency.
