On October 20, 2009, the Southeast Regional Professional Development Center in conjunction with MELL will be hosting a one-day workshop focusing on the implementation of Response to Intervention in schools that are culturally and linguistically diverse. Dr. Janette Klingner will be the featured presenter for the workshop. Dr. Janette Klingner is a nationally recognized author, presenter, and researcher in the fields of English Language Learners, Bi-Lingual Education, Special Education, and Response to Intervention and will discuss some of the very real challenges practitioners face when implementing RtI, how to address these challenges in feasible ways.
School districts are encouraged to send teams of teachers and administrators to participate. Graduate credit will be offered for an additional fee.
