The Public Placement Fund application is due October 31, 2011, for services provided during the 2010-11 school year. The application and other supporting documentation are posted on the Special Education Finance webpage at http://www.dese.mo.gov/divspeced/Finance/PPFindex.html. Applications and supporting cost documentation must be submitted electronically to spedfunding@dese.mo.gov by October 31, 2011, to be eligible for reimbursement.
The Public Placement Fund provides reimbursement for districts educating non-domicile students, both IEP and non-IEP, placed within the district by the Children's Division (CD)/Department of Social Services, the Department of Mental Health (DMH), Division of Youth Services (DYS)/Department of Social Services, or a court of competent jurisdiction. Funding is available when the educational costs of these students exceed the revenues received by the serving district. This is an OPTIONAL application.
