As we come upon our first anniversary of the on-line Educator Certification System we want to express our gratitude to our education community who have provided ongoing advice and support as we converted to our new system. Prior to our online system a request for certification was generally provided within 8 to 10 weeks. Today, if all required documents are submitted such as, fingerprint information, transcripts, applications etc. we are able to certify the educator within 24-48 hours of receiving the on-line application. We are very proud of this level of customer service that we are now able to provide.
We continue our redesign of educator preparation accreditation measures and processes. PK-12 school districts, colleges/universities, and/or other members of the professional community attended regional meetings. These nine regional meetings were conducted to gain feedback, regarding best practices associated with Field & Clinical Experiences within educator preparation programs. The agenda also included an update on the development of the Annual Educator Preparation Performance Report (AEPPR) and other redesign components.
