State Board of Education Honors 2005 Milken Award Recipients
The State Board of Education honored Missouri’s 2005 Milken Family Foundation National Educator Award recipients today (January 12) at a luncheon in the Governor’s Mansion. Honored were Andy Gensler, language arts teacher at Eureka High School, Rockwood School District; Kevin Lowery, principal of Bolivar Middle School.
The Missouri educators will receive a two-day, expense-paid trip to the Milken Family Foundation National Education Conference in May at Washington, D.C., where they will be presented their $25,000 financial award.
Missouri joined the Milken Educator Awards program in 1996. Since 1987, the Milken Family Foundation has awarded more than $54 million to 2,100 outstanding American educators. The foundation is based in Santa Monica, Calif.
