“The historic state capitol is a perfect venue to celebrate the achievements of our organization that has a very proud and successful past,” says Christopher Young, state advisor of Missouri DECA and Delta Epsilon Chi. “This year was definitely a year of firsts, and our students should be proud of their accomplishments.
“Our stellar showing at the ICDC is the perfect culmination to a year of dedication to marketing education and rightfully recognizes the ideals of DECA and Delta Epsilon Chi. Our students earned this elite honor by excelling in a year-long study of marketing, management, and entrepreneurship through classroom instruction, DECA and Delta Epsilon Chi, and work-based experiences. In an economy that makes the job market tough, DECA and Delta Epsilon Chi students have an advantage because they have acquired industry-based knowledge and important interpersonal skills.”
DECA is an international association of high school students studying marketing, management and entrepreneurship in business, finance, hospitality and marketing sales and service. Missouri DECA serves more than 9,000 students throughout the state. Delta Epsilon Chi is the college division of DECA and serves more than 300 students throughout Missouri.
