SUBJECT: National Center on Family Homelessness and Domestic Violence Survey
LISTSERVE MESSAGE DATE: April 18, 2012
Please see the message below from the National Center on Family Homelessness.
The National Center on Family Homelessness is working on a project to address the gap in services between the domestic violence (DV) and homeless service systems. Often these two systems work separately. Many homeless families have experienced DV and many DV survivors are homeless and in need of stable, safe, permanent housing. The National Center is conducting a survey of both homeless shelter providers and domestic violence shelter and transitional housing providers to better understand the problem, gaps in services, and need. Based on what we learn, we will be producing a guide with recommendations and best practices to help the two systems improve coordination to better meet the needs of families surviving domestic violence and experiencing homelessness.
The National Center would like to gather information from as many providers as possible to get the best representation to inform the project. The survey is being distributed nationally through a number of different listserves. Below is a link to a short survey regarding the intersection of domestic violence and homelessness. It should take less than 10 minutes to complete. We would greatly appreciate your participation. Please feel free to contact Rose Clervil below with any questions. Please feel free to forward the survey link to your networks. We would greatly appreciate your participation.
