Date: January 12, 2010

Children ages 0-5 who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing and their families are eligible for outreach services through the Missouri School for the Deaf's Resource Center.  Trained parent advisors visit the child's home on a weekly basis to instruct parents on a variety of issues that are unique to children who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.  This instruction is based on a nationally recognized curriculum (SKI*HI) and includes topics such as language and communication development, the use of hearing aids, cochlear implants, etc.  School districts are encouraged to contact MSD if they know of any families who may benefit from the program.
