The National Center on Response to Intervention is hosting a free webinar entitled RTI and Instructional Coaching: An Overview on March 3, 2010, from 1:00-2:00 pm CST. For the past decade, researchers and practitioners at the University of Kansas Center for Research on Learning have been developing and evaluating a model for providing onsite professional learning. This study identified several activities that instructional coaches employ to facilitate teachers' learning new teaching practices, including the implementation of RTI.
What topics will be discussed?
* The seven components of coaching-(a) enroll, (b) identify, (c) model, (d) observe, (e) explore, (f) support, and (g) reflect.
* The partnership principles that represent the theoretical
framework for this approach to coaching.
* The value of coaching within an RTI framework.
