Subject: Autism/Scholarship Opportunities for Autism Spectrum Training in St. Louis

The Office of Special Education is funding scholarships for teachers working in public schools to attend training on the autism spectrum disorder in August 2010.  Scholarships are available for public school teachers who have not received any other scholarship for summer 2010 autism spectrum disorder training through Project ACCESS.

A Journey Through the Autism Spectrum is offered in St. Louis on August

26 and 27.  On August 26, the featured speaker is Paula Kluth, Ph.D., who will present "The Inclusive Classroom." 

On August 27, the featured speaker is Temple Grandin, Ph.D., who will present "Developing Talents: Careers for Individuals with Asperger's and High-Functioning Autism" and discuss her book, "The Way I See It."

This scholarship covers the registration fee only.  Recipients will be responsible for their own travel expenses.  More information about the workshop is available at http://www.spectrumtrainingsystemsinc.com/st_louis.html.  The application deadline for this scholarship opportunity is Friday, July 9, 2010.
