As indicated in a SELS message sent on May 10 and May 18, 2010, (http://www.dese.mo.gov/divspeced/LS05.10.10-2.htm and http://www.dese.mo.gov/divspeced/LS05.18.10.htm) the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) recently approved changes to the Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) educational environments. These changes will go into effect for the 2010-11 school year, meaning that the revised educational environments will need to be reported for the December child count via the December MOSIS Student Core file.

We have discovered some people with wireless computer connections cannot access the live webinar without serious quality issues and our best recommendation is to use a computer that is not wireless.
In addition, updated technical assistance, including a new decision tree document and revised codes are available at http://www.dese.mo.gov/divspeced/DataCoord/EduEnvironments.html. The technical assistance includes definitions, instructions, examples, and a worksheet for determining the educational environments for children in ECSE.
