The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and the KU Transition Coalition are recruiting new Missouri Transition Liaisons.

Missouri Transition Liaisons devote time and energy to improve transition education and services in Missouri through increased communication and collaboration with the Regional Professional Development Centers, Transition Coalition, and the Department.  Liaisons will provide input into statewide guidance documents and forms; review professional development trainings and resources; collaborate with other transition liaisons, RPDC Consultants, Transition Coalition, and the Department; and, disseminate information at both the district and regional level to develop a collaborative group of colleagues.

If selected, Transition Liaisons will participate in two 1-day trainings during the school year October 26, 2010, and February 24, 2011, and will participate in a presentation at the Missouri Summer Transition Institute.  Approval from the school district's superintendent is required.

This is a voluntary position.  Expenses for attending training will be paid through a stipend.  There is no compensation for a liaison position.

Applications will be reviewed by a committee, and those selected to be Missouri Transition Liaisons will be notified via email by September 22, 2010.  Please note all information is voluntary.
