Missouri Community Transition Team (CTT) Program
The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and the Transition Coalition at Kansas University are pleased to announce an application process for the formation and training of eleven additional Community Transition Teams across Missouri. There are currently 16 such teams operating in the state. See our web site for more information about CTTs: http://www.dese.mo.gov/divspeced/EffectivePractices/Transition.htm (click on Transition Programs).
The focus of the Community Transition Team training is to provide an understanding of transition planning, services, and research-based effective practices in transition as a framework for educators, students, families, administrators, interagency personnel, community partners, and employers, to ensure that they have the necessary knowledge and tools to improve post-secondary outcomes for transitioning youth, provide assistance and training to create a strategic plan for community wide transition systems, and to elevate community awareness of and commitment to the improvement of post-secondary outcomes.
Applications to participate in the 2010-11 Missouri Community Transition Team training are being accepted now. If chosen, Community Transition Teams will participate in three 2-day trainings on the following dates: October 7-8, 2010; December 2-3, 2010; and March 3-4, 2011.
To be considered for the Missouri Community Transition Team training, please complete and return the application. You may email it as an attachment to Pattie Noonan at pnoonan@ku.edu or fax it to the attention of Pattie Noonan at 785-864-0700.
