Special Education Listserv

Subject: Support for Web Application Access

Source: Heidi Atkins Lieberman, Assistant Commissioner

Intended Audience: Special Education Contacts

Date: September 2, 2010

The following message was recently sent to school districts on behalf of Leigh Ann Grant-Engle, Assistant Commissioner, Office of Data Management Systems, and I wanted to be sure it was also received by all special education contacts in the field.

Our data management staff is committed to ensuring the Department's Web applications are functioning as smoothly as possible for you.

As you may know, our Web applications are maintained and supported by the state Office of Administration's Information Technology Department.  Due to the introduction of new systems this school year, they have experienced a backlog of I.T. requests to help with security issues.  We are working closely with the OA ITSD to ensure you have ready access to technical support.

The following contact information is available for school personnel who need assistance with any of the Web applications:

* To request routine assistance, send an e-mail to:

* To request special assistance, call the OA ITSD Help Desk at 573-751-9821.  Leave a message if no answer.

Both methods of requesting support are constantly monitored by the I.T. help desk.

One of our new systems is the online substitute teacher certification system.  Step-by-step instructions and a Frequently Asked Questions document are available at

We also have a new system in place that allows districts to manage their own user IDs and passwords.  We will soon have a step-by-step presentation available online.

We hope your school year is off to a great start!
