REMINDER: The High Need Fund (HNF) application is due January 31, 2012, for services provided during the 2010-11 school year.  The FY12 HNF manual, applications, and supporting reports spreadsheet are posted on the Special Education Finance webpage at  The application must be saved and submitted electronically via email as an attachment to by January 31 to be eligible for funding.  Districts will be sent a confirmation upon the Department's receipt of the application.  Please keep the email confirmation for your records. 

The High Need Fund (HNF) provides reimbursement for districts serving any student with a disability whose educational costs exceed three times the district's Current Expenditure per ADA amount.  This is an OPTIONAL application.  Please note that students should NOT be claimed on both the HNF and Public Placement Fund.  If you have any questions, please contact the Special Education Finance Section at (573) 751-0622 or by email at
